5 puppies 3.30.14 AThings are looking UP!  As most of you know, when my puppies are born, they cannot see – their eyes are sealed closed.  they cannot hear – their ear folds are sealed.  And they cannot walk.  They sort of swim across the whelping box to get in and out of the heat zone and to snuggle up together.  They can find their breakfast.  And lunch.  And dinner.  And several snacks throughout the day and night.  A nursing mother rarely gets a full night’s sleep!  Let’s face it, that’s part of the reason I sleep in the puppy basket sometimes.

Clint 4.1.14 BOver the last few days, the pups have found their feet with varying degrees of agility.  Oh, they can all get up on their feet.  And they can all move.  But just like human babies, they tend to stumble a good bit.  That’s all about to change.  You see, their eyes are opening.  When you add vision to their movements, they will start to be much more coordinated in their movements.

Oh, yes.  It’s about to get very interesting around here.
