Time flies when you’re having fun!

It was a sultry July evening when Babe climbed into her whelping box and started an adventure.  In just 6 hours, she gave us ten new puppies to love and enjoy.  In the first 8 weeks of their lives, we watched them go from unseeing, helpless little bundles of fur to romping, rowdy, bundles of energy attached to a tail.  During that time, we started looking for owners for the new pups, places where they could live and maximize their potential.

Babe’s puppies have found themselves some wonderful new homes.  One is learning to be a running companion for a marathoner.  One is making the lives of three little girls happy.  Another is living close to us with a family where he’ll be a hunting companion.  Another is living in a hunting house with three boys and an adult who are hunters.  There’s one puppy who has been living the good life and running on the beaches in Florida.  Two have stayed here with us, to be a future Three Cedars sire and dam.  One is here training before she goes to her new human, a devoted water fowl hunter.  Another is training with us to be a versatile hunting dog.  And one puppy is now four months into her training at Penn Vet’s Working Dog Center.
The puppies range in size from a remarkably large 70 pound male to a more typical – but still nicely sized 47 pound female.  They have developed skills including a beautiful “natural sit” on a find to sitting unsupervised for 15 minutes.  The puppies are well on their way.

It’s very gratifying as a breeder to see the puppies you have cared for find their new places in the world.  Each of these puppies is doing important work, from companionship to hunting buddy to professional working dog.

Knowing that Babe and Mas produced such fine quality puppies, we are now beginning to consider a second breeding with this pair.  And knowing how many fine families are out there, we are confident that the new puppies will be able to find equally wonderful placements.
